This year, we have begun offering a makerspace in our school library: before school, throughout the school day, during lunchtime, and often after school.  

As we launch our first McMurray Middle School Makerspace, we are seeking supplies, volunteers, and expertise.  If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering or sharing your expertise, please see the list of the various ways we would appreciate support.  We are in need of people to come one time to introduce a project, for one week, or on an ongoing basis. We also are seeking help to keep our library running smoothly.  We are also in need of supplies and materials.  Please see our wishlist if you are able to donate needed items.

Those who volunteer in our library will need to have a background check prior to working with students.  This is a simple process, and the short form that needs to be completed can be found on our VISD website. Please contact Patty Gregorich through email at pgregorich@vashonsd.org if you are interested in volunteering in some manner or if you have items you may like to donate that are not on the attached list. We may, indeed, be grateful to receive items not on this list, but we’d like to discuss our needs first.  We also appreciate you passing along my contraction information to others who may be interested in volunteering.

Donations of supplies can be dropped off at McMurray Middle School in the front office, our school library, or in our waterproof donation bin behind the library.

If you would like to purchase new materials (mostly consumables) to support our makerspace, you can do so by buying items on the list of supplies or purchasing from our Amazon Wishlist.
